    Rihanna shared her excitement at the prospect of Kendrick Lamar’s performance during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, praising the Los Angeles rapper. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight published in October 24, she expressed how much she loves K-dot, even remembering her own record-breaking Halftime Show.

    “What is there to doubt on that?,” she asked. “It’s a diamond on a ring finger, honey; it’s meant to be. It’s Kendrick Lamar. He deserves it. I cannot wait to see it. Kendrick, thank you.”

    Rihanna’s very first No. 1 hit “SOS” had elements of titles from 1980’s songs. Evann “Kidd” Borgat, who wrote the 2006 song, revealed that he was inexperienced with writing pop music and had to lift some words from 80’s song titles.

    “If you really look at how that song is written, it’s not written by anyone who knows anything about pop music,” he said. “I was going off of instinct. If you look at the verses, they’re crafted with a lot of clever word play and internal rhyme schemes — like a rapper would.

    “The whole second verse of that song is ’80s song titles strung together as sentences because I thought it would be clever.”

    RiRi says she’s ‘starting over’ new album with fresh approach

    Rihanna is yet to give her fans the album they have been thirsting over for nearly a decade. During a recent red carpet walk at a Fenty Hair event, the Barbadian megastar explained that while she’s been working on the project “for so long,” she has chosen to regroup and take a fresh approach.

    “Music for me is a new discovery. I am re-discovering things,” the mother of two began. “I have been working on the album for so long that I kind of put all of that stuff aside. And now, I’m prepared to go back in the studio. NOW I’m prepared. So I’m gonna start.”

    She added, “I’m starting over, but I don’t wanna neglect the songs that I have, so I wanna actually go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective, and see what applies and see what I’m still in love with.”

    Rihanna was recently launching her Fenty-Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneaker in London where Entertainment Tonight caught up with her and asked her about her forthcoming album.

    The billionaire singer revealed that she and her hubby ASAP Rocky lend each other hands in selecting potential records for their respective upcoming albums.

    “I mean, it’s up to them,” RiRi answered when asked if their kids RZA and Riot will appear on her LP. “I already got stuff that I feel like I can make hits out of. Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who’s gonna use what because it’s so good!”

    Speaking on visuals from the highly-anticipated project, she added, “I can’t tell you! That would be me, like, snitching on my record.”

    DJ Khaled has joined forces with Rihanna before, but he still dreams of working with the Barbadian superstar once again. Recently speaking with Billboard, the We The Best boss shared his desire to link up with RiRi again.

    “I want to work again with Rihanna,” Khaled revealed. “I’ve worked with her and we made a big hit record called ‘Wild Thoughts.’ I want to make another record with her. That’s my wishlist.”

    Khaled’s collab with Rihanna, “Wild Thoughts,” which also included Bryson Tiller, was released in 2017 as the third single from the former’s album, Grateful. It became an instant hit and opened within the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

    Usher’s performance on the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime show attracted more viewers than that of Rihanna in 2023 as well as Dr. Dre’s star studded performance with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent in 2022.

    Samba TV reported that the “Yeah!” singer’s show had five percent more viewers than that of Riri. It was also watched in a million more households than that of Dr. Dre. The show was viewed in over 30m households, which translates to around 100m viewers per US standards.

    Broadcasted on CBS, Nickelodeon and Paramount Plus, the Super Bowl game was watched by 123.4m people, the most in history. It also became the most viewed TV broadcast since the lunar landing in 1969.

    Latto featured on Cosmopolitan’s Skin issue on Tuesday (June 20) where she discussed her retirement plan. The rapper revealed that she plans on venturing into the film industry because like Rihanna, she wants to stop being active in music at some point in her life.

    “I want to get in my acting bag, because I see myself going out like Rihanna,” she explained. “I don’t see myself doing music forever.”

    Latto went on, “Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’ve been doing it for so long already. Sometimes you just want more. I just did my first little acting gig the other day and I fell in love with that. I like more serious roles.”

    RiRi’s 2016 album sells over six million units

    Rihanna’s album Anti earns her a new certification from RIAA. This week, the album was certified 6x platinum after selling above 6M equivalent album units across the US. The album now joins Good Girl Gone Bad as RiRi’s highest certified full-length release.

    Anti was released in 2016 as Rihanna’s eighth studio effort and her first release after leaving Def Jam Records. With features from SZA and Drake, it received production from such producers as Jeff Bhasker, Boi-1da, DJ Mustard, Hit-Boy, Brian Kennedy, Timbaland and No I.D.
