    Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg enter a bussiness partnership for a new spirits company, and their first product is dubbed Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop, which is steeled by their 1994 smash record of the same name.

    “Together, we always try to create magic, we’re having fun being creative, and everything about this product is really us,” Dr. Dre stated about the partnership. “There’s passion behind it, and friendship and love and a culture. We’re shooting to make everything we do magnificent, and fortunately, most of the time we hit the target.”

    Snoop went on, “Look where we’re at in our careers. Look at our age and look at what we’ve done, and we still love each other, so why not do something together? A lot of times people have been in a relationship for thirty years and can’t talk to each other, can’t hang out, so it’s just fun to be in a partnership with people that you actually love.”

    Staples gives Snoop thumbs up for being present in his city

    Vince Staples has great words to say about Snoop Dogg’s role of bringing positive influence in his hometown of Long Beach. In an interview on Podcast P, Staples, who originates from the same city as Snoop, explained how the I Still Got It rapper and the likes of Warren G were there for their city during his childhood.

    “I think the best thing about Snoop is that he never felt out of reach,” Staples said. “He[‘s] never being weird, bro, there’s no other way to put it; he’s just not weird.

    “Beiing a kid, I don’t think I even like realized how big — all him, Warren G — I didn’t realize how big all of them were ’cause you would just see them on a random day amongst their people.”

    Snoop reveals he was close to MJ

    Snoop Dogg explains how he related with the late Michael Jackson. During a discussion on Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy on Sirius XM, Snoop revealed that he was close to MJ and even has an unreleased record with the King of Pop.

    “Me and Michael was family. His family, my family love each other,” he explained. “We have a record that never came out together,” he added, skimming over the details.

    He then recalled an encounter with the Thriller hit-maker during an event in Las Vegas where he burst into MJ’s dressing room blowing marijuana smoke and he wasn’t having it.

    “Only issue me and Mike had was, we was at … Ed Hardy — Christian Audigier, he had an event in [Las] Vegas. He had Michael Jackson perform, Snoop Dogg perform,” he remembered.

    “But where he messed up, he put Michael Jackson dressing room right next to Snoop Dogg’s. So Snoop Dogg was doing this,” he continued, taking a hit of his blunt.

    “They like, ‘You know Michael Jackson dressing room next door.’ Like, ‘No it ain’t.’ They like, ‘Yeah it is.’ I’m like, ‘Hold on.’” Snoop then took another drag from his blunt and recalled how he opened the door, exhuming a cloud of smoke. “[Michael was] right there looking at me. He said, ‘Snoop, don’t do that.’”

    Snoop wants to take GGN to a different direction

    Snoop Dogg isn’t okay with mistakenly being seen as another rapper joining the podcast bandwagon with his YouTube series GGN.

    Recently speaking to actor Slick Long, the Long Beach rapper revealed his plan to turn the series into a movie inspired by satirical comedy film Anchorman.

    “GGN has 400 or something episodes that I shot since day one. It’s time for GNN the movie,” the I Still Got It rapper said. “I’m in a lane that has called itself podcasts. When I created GGN, there was no things called podcasts. So now it looks like I’m imitating or I’m trying to get in a lane of others, in which I actually helped create this lane, but I’m not the credit guy. So I’m just gon’ flip it into a movie on some Anchorman sh-t, like the comedy movie with me playing Nemo Hoes.”

    Snoop Dogg is not convinced that there is fairness in how streaming platforms pay artists. During a conversation on Business Untitled, the Long Beach rapper revealed that a billion streams generated less than $45k for him.

    “They just sent me some shit from Spotify where I got a billion streams right?” Snoop explained. “My publisher hit me, I said, ‘break it down, how much money is that?’ That shit weren’t even $45,000.”

    This is not the first time Snoop has lashed out about streaming payouts. While speaking to Apple Music’s former director Larry Jackson at a panel in May, the I Still Got It rapper questioned how streaming platforms split funds.

    “Streaming needs to get their shit together,” he said. “I don’t understand how you get paid off that shit. Can somebody explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a million dollars? I don’t know who the f–k runnin’ the streaming industry if you’re in here or not. You need to give us some information about how to track this money down.”

    He explained that the days of selling physical copies were more transparent and that these days “one plus one ain’t up to two.”

    Snoop Dogg featured on Rolling Stone’s recent cover alongside Latto where he shared a story about one of his favorite studio sessions.

    “One that stand out to me is when me, Pharrell, and Stevie Wonder was in the studio,” the Long Beach rapper told Latto.

    “We smoking. We in a little-ass room. Pharrell’s done got high, he got secondhand smoke. Now Stevie in the booth and Pharrell ain’t saying shit. Stevie in that muthafucka trying to figure out what to do.”

    He added, “I’m like, ‘Pharrell, produce this n-gga.’ This n-gga’s so high, he leaves Stevie in the booth and don’t give him no direction. And I’m trying to tell Stevie what to do. I don’t know what the fuck to do. I’m not a producer. I told the n-gga, ‘Just play anything.’

    “When we finished, Pharrell took all of the good shit that he played. Because he was playing harmonica, singing and shit, and it ended up working.”

    Snoop continued, “But it was funny to me that this n-gga been around me this long, but today he finally gets so high that he leaves Stevie in there. They left a n-gga in there, where he had to walk out by himself. Shout-out my n-gga, Stevie.”

    Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s smash record “California Gurls” has now been certified diamond by RIAA after earning 10M units in the US.

    The track was released as the lead single from Katy’s third studio album, Teenage Dream. The song was produced by Benny Blanco along with Dr. Luke and Max Martin. It became Katy’s highest debut at the time after opening at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It later ascended to No. 1, becoming Katy’s second No. 1 hit and Snoop’s third.

    Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams joined forces in 2004 to create one of the biggest rap songs of all time, “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” which became a No. 1 hit. The Long Beach rapper recently appeared on Audible’s From The Streets series where he shared the story behind the making of the record.

    “[Pharrell’s] in the back with the keyboards, it’s just him and the engineer,” Snoop remembers in a video obtained by Billboard. “He ain’t even got the beat all the way made. This how this n-gga get down, he don’t say words, he just [imitates Pharrell’s vocalizations], so it’s my job to make that shit make sense!”

    He went on, “This n-gga done took the bar all the way … I cannot let Pharrell out-rap me on my muthafuckin’ song!”
