Victory Boyd Sues Travis Scott, SZA, Future Over Alleged Song Theft in ‘Telekinesis’

Victory Boyd is suing Travis Scott, SZA, and Future over alleged song theft in ‘Telekinesis’

Roc Nation artist Victory Boyd brings charges of infringement of copyrights against Travis Scott, SZA, Future, and other credited writers of “Telekinesis,” which, though not credited so, has used part of Boyd’s song “Like The Way It Sounds” recorded and released in 2019. As Allhiphop reported, the federal lawsuit was filed in New York on 8th January and accuses Scott and all who helped him write that our song contains elements easily recognizable as rip-offs of this hook.

Boyd said she initially played “Like The Way It Sounds” to Kanye West in November 2019. She has accused West, who is not named in the suit, of playing the song for Scott, who allegedly passed it to Future and SZA. According to Boyd, the resulting track includes lines borrowed from her song.

Further, in the lawsuit, OctaED, Vega, and Boyd also include luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet as defendants, claiming that the company used “Telekinesis” in the ads campaign with Boyd, though she declined the offer. Boyd also notes that her name is on Spotify as the song’s composer, which she alleges Spotify added without her consent. Additionally, Boyd says she was recently given eight percent of the song’s ownership, which she declined.

SZA Confesses to Regretting Her ‘Stupid’ BBL: ‘I’m So Angry I Did That’

    SZA Regrets Her ‘Stupid’ BBL

SZA has complicated feelings about the Brazilian butt lift (BBL) that she had a few years back – she loves it but lets out some regret about that “horrible” decision she made.

The New Jersey singer, as the cover star of British Vogue’s December 2024 edition, spoke about the procedure that she underwent in 2022 to improve her curves.

“I’m so mad I did that shit,” she said. “I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid. But who gives a fuck? You got a BBL, you realize you didn’t need the shit. It doesn’t matter. I’ll do a whole bunch more shit just like it if I want to before I’m fucking dead because this body is temporary.’

The SOS hit-maker added: “It just wasn’t super necessary. I have other shit that I need to work on about myself. I need to get my fucking mental health together. Not to say you can’t do those things simultaneously, just, for me, I realize wherever you go, there you’ll be. But I love my butt. Don’t get me wrong. My booty look nice. And I’m grateful that it looks pretty much – I don’t know, sometimes natural, but I don’t even care. It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it.”

Kendrick Lamar has a great deal of respect and admiration for his former labelmate SZA, who she describes as one of the most talented singers of the generation. The SOS hit-maker is featured on the December 2024 issue of British Vogue where K. Dot showered her with praises.

“There was always a question about something,” he explained. “[Today] I recognize a more expressive SZA. The shy shit is completely out the window – to a degree, at least. She has the answers to some of the things she was curious about and is willing to tell it all in the most disruptive yet beautiful compositions this generation has ever heard.”

Kendrick got emotional recording one of his songs

Kendrick Lamar opens up about his feelings while recording a Mr. Morale song during a recent conversation with SZA, stating that he was emotional to the point of tearing up while performing the single, “Mother I Sober.”

In the course of a chat where he featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar that was published October 21, K. Dot was asked when he last cried.
