Jim Jones calls for Dipset and The Lox Verzuz rematch

Jim wants the Diplomats to hit the stage against The Lox again

Legendary hip-hop groups Dipset and The Lox went against each other on Verzuz in 2021 and the former emerged victorious. Jim Jones, a prominent member of Dipset, now wants a rematch, and should be done “in the Garden.” The New York artist made the revelation during an interview with Allhiphop earlier this month.

“I don’t think that energy will ever be duplicated outside of New York unless we go for the rematch, you heard?” Capo explained. “Last time, there was a lot going on. The venue was way too small. There were people on my back. There were people on people’s shoulders in there.

“I think we need proper respect of doing it in the Garden, the big Garden, with proper security, set up right so everybody have breathing room. Not using it as no excuse, but we need a rematch for the city. I’m puttin’ it out there like Rocky after he lost to Apollo Creed … And we gonna be ready like hot spaghetti.”

He continued, “let’s score it like a boxing match. Let’s get the judges. Let’s make it live. Let the people vote live. Let’s do it right. Let’s really go for it.”

Jay-Z and his Roc-A-Fella team went to an infamous lyrical war with The Lox in the early 2000s, and according to Beanie Sigel, the feud was a result of something Hov said on R. Kelly’s “Fiesta” remix. Lox’s Jadakiss had appeared on the original version of the track.

“Kiss had that record. He was on that R. Kelly record,” Beanie explained. “He didn’t take a shot at me. Jay took a shot at them. ‘After the party it’s the hotel lobby … and after the original it’s probably this.’ That ‘Fiesta’ joint. Kiss and them was on that joint first.”

He added, “It was a shot because it was a couple joints that they was on first and Jay jumped on joints and then you hear little stuff. We all know who the best is Big ain’t here so it was a lot of dark storm.”
