    Lil Dicky drew some of his performing tactics from Usher. In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Dicky revealed that he strips down onstage because he used to see Usher do so while growing up.

    “I see this man on stage, and I remember weeping [while] watching him,” Dicky recalled, “as he would strip down into his underwear. And honestly, I now, strip down to my underwear when I get shows, because of Usher.”

    Usher celebrates the 19th anniversary of his 2004 blockbuster album, Confessions, by highlighting why it’s one of the most iconic R&B efforts ever. On Thursday (March 23), Usher took to Instagram to celebrate the album.

    “Confessions is by far one of the greatest albums I’ve had in my career,” Usher wrote in the caption. “Selling 1.1 million units in the 1st week. It’s the last R&B album to be certified Diamond with over 18 million copies sold in the US, and the best-selling album by a Black artist in the 21st century.”

    He added, “It was an effort of all passion. I wouldn’t do anything different. A one of its kind. #1of1.”

    Cardi B shows Usher some love

    Cardi B stands by Usher’s legendary status within the R&B space. Bardi hopped on Twitter Friday (September 9) to express her blissfulness for Usher receiving the recognition he merits.

    “I’m so glad @Usher is getting the love he deserves,” the “Hot Shit” rapper wrote. “Y’all were trying him for a couple years but I’m glad he overcame that because he is a LEGEND.”

    In an August interview, Usher revealed that he’d accept the R&B crown if fans gave it to him. “I mean, you call me that, I’ll definitely carry it,” Usher said. “I’m a tilt my crown knowing that I’m standing on the shoulders of all of the icons of our time. It is Michael [Jackson] that I stand on the shoulders of, it is James Brown that I stand on the shoulders of, it is Ronald Isley I stand on the shoulders of, it is Luther Vandross, it is Barry White, it is Teddy Pendergrass.”

    So today they finally decided to drop off the record they’ve been hiding for the last two years.
