Vic Mensa Reacts to Elon Musk’s Controversial Inauguration Gesture

The Chicago Rapper Calls Out Musk’s Symbolism and the Ideology Behind It

Elon Musk is no stranger to controversy, and his appearance at Donald Trump’s inauguration only fueled the fire. His gesture, which many viewers interpreted as a Nazi salute toward Trump and the crowd, quickly sparked backlash. However, one who wasn’t surprised by Musk’s actions was rapper Vic Mensa, who has long been outspoken about his political views.

Mensa, who has been critical of the Trump administration for years, took to Instagram after the inauguration to share his thoughts. “If there are any misunderstandings about the ideology of this campaign,” Mensa wrote, “I expected nothing less.” The Chicago rapper has consistently used his platform to challenge political figures, and Musk’s controversial moment fits into the larger narrative he has been vocal about for nearly a decade.

Mensa’s criticism of Trump and his administration dates back to 2016 when he discussed the enduring effects of racism in America during an interview with CNN. He continued his political activism in 2019 with his song “Camp America,” which critiqued Trump’s border policies and the treatment of immigrants. Mensa remains committed to using his music to shed light on the issues he cares about, especially in political turmoil.
