    Back in 2012, NASA’s Curiosity rover beamed a song from Mars to Earth. Will.i.am’s idea came about due to his interest in robotics and STEM learning and he invited a group of students from his native Boyle Heights neighborhood to the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena to listen to the song.

In 1992 his group was signed to Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records. After Eazy-E’s death, he regrouped and formed The Black Eyed Peas. They became a supergroup in the 1990s and 2000s.

    He’s since worked on solo material and features. He’s worked as an artist and producer with Kanye West, Shakira, Mary J Blige, Diddy, Common, Usher, Rihanna, and more. He has been diagnosed with ADHD and is vegan. In addition to rap, he is an entrepreneur, TV personality, actor, and futurist.
