Per Young Thug‘s Instagram it seems something is coming from the Atlanta grammy nominated rapper. His profile picture on Instagram reads the date ‘2.28.20’.
In a December 2019 interview with HipHollywood, Young Thug had said his new album would be coming in February. Wikipedia and Genius also have listed the release date for ‘Punk’ as February 28th 2020.
However, Lil Baby’s new album ‘My Turn’ is confirmed dropping 2/28 and has a feature from Young Thug. Thug and Baby have done multiple songs together and have frequently promoted each others music. So is thugger promoting Baby or Punk? Guess we will have to wait and see.

Young Thug has released the deluxe version of his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 charts ‘So Much Fun.’ The deluxe version of the album included FOUR new songs. “Diamonds” ft. Gunna, “Hop Off a Jet” ft. Travis Scott, “Die Today,” and “Millions”
We now have the official remix on all streaming platforms. Young Thug and Travis Scott are no strangers to working with each other and we’re sure it won’t be the last. The song proceeds as normal, adding Scott’s verse in last.
Propelled by almost 168 million streams, Young Thug‘sSo Much Fun debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This is Thug’s first album to top the charts, and with 131,000 units sold, it is his biggest first week ever.
Over half of the album’s songs appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, led by “The London” featuring J. Coleand Travis Scott. The song was released earlier this year and peaked at #12. “Hot” featuring Gunna and “Bad Bad Bad” featuring Lil Baby both debuted in the top 50.
Young Thug also dominated the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, with six songs in the top 25. He is also featured on Post Malone‘s hit “Goodbyes,” which is #6 on this chart.
Atlanta label Quality Control saw its second compilation album, Control The Streets, Vol. 2, debut at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. Led by Migos, the label has seen a lot of its artists explode onto the scene in the two years since it last dropped a compilation album. This includes Lil Baby becoming a household name in the hip-hop community and the City Girls releasing their smash hit “Act Up.” Riding this momentum, the album sold 63,000 units the first week.
The biggest song on the album, “Baby,” jumped ten spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart to reach a new peak at #24. Led by QC artist Lil Baby and featuring Da Baby, the song has charted every week since it was released as the lead single. It also has benefited from its Scarface inspired music video, which currently has over 18 million views on YouTube.
Lizzo earned her first #1 song on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as “Truth Hurts” climbed one spot this week. She also reached a new peak on the Artist 100 chart, sitting at #4 and leading all other hip-hop artists.
A$AP Ferg’sFloor Seats sold 12,000 units in its first week, debuting at #50 on the Billboard 200. While some may consider this a disappointing first week, it is still a solid number considering Floor Seats is a 9 track EP that was released with very little promotion.
Lil Tecca’s “Ransom” continued its rise on the charts, this week reaching the #5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time. It was also revealed by Spotify that “Ransom” is the most streamed song this summer, surprising many fans by beating out Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road.”
Swae Lee and Drake‘s highly anticipated collaboration “Won’t Be Late” fell flat in its first week, debuting at #30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. However, both artists are still well represented on the chart, with a combined three songs in the top 10.
On August 16, Young Thug released his debut studio album, So Much Fun, an album complete with producers and artists we’re familiar with, but there’s new joy to be found on each track.
The album is complete with 19 tracks. Features include: Gunna, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Doe Boy, Lil Keed, Lil Uzi Vert and Duke, and Machine Gun Kelly.
Machine Gun Kelly was actually a missing piece to the album’s completion. Thug stated in an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the verse (suppose to be on “Ecstasy”) didn’t make it on the album due to Thug’s engineer turning in the album and forgetting to add Machine Gun Kelly’s verse.
The new version of “Ecstasy” may find some people upset, seeing as though there’s a Young Thug verse that is no longer on the album. It was important for this version to come to fruition because the two will be joining forces for a fall tour.
You can still listen to the original version of “Ecstasy” below, as well as the updated version.
With lack of physical copies being sold, the change doesn’t truly interfere with anything. Thug’s album debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard charts with 128,000 units sold.

Young Thug has just officially dropped what is being considered his debut album, So Much Fun, and it is receiving all of the praise that it deserves. At 19 songs, this project is a roller coaster and does not get boring at all; every song is different and unique enough that nothing on this project feels stagnant to me at all. Young Thug really is on top form for all of this album; there are so many different vocal styles and melodies sometimes it seems like it is not even Young Thug rapping.
One of my favorite things about the record is how many songs contain Young Thug’s YSL label mates. Young Thug always does a great job of showcasing the up and coming artists he surrounds himself with on all of his projects, and so much fun is a prime example of that. The songs on So Much Fun that feature YSL artists are: ‘Hot,’ featuring Gunna, ‘Surf,’ featuring Gunna, ‘I Bought Her,’ featuring Lil Duke, ‘Cartier Gucci Scarf,’ featuring Lil Duke, and ‘Big Tipper,’ which features Lil Keed.
Although all of these songs are very good(honestly the whole album is just very good), my favorites are definitely ‘Cartier Gucci Scarf’ and ‘Big Tipper.’ Both of these tracks have instrumentals that go so damn hard, and the vocal fluctuation and vocal contrasts provided by Keed and Duke on these songs make them so enjoyable and different. If you want to check these tracks out or want to hear any more of this excellent album, check them out below!
Hip Hop’s current most infamous white boy is back, y’all. Post Malone just released his new single, ‘Goodbyes,’ featuring Young Thug. And y’all, I am here for it. Post Malone brings back his somber vibe on this song, singing about heartbreak over a melodic and sad sounding trap beat. Post Malone’s vocals are as good as ever, his raspiness really adding to the moody tone of the song. Lyrically, it is sad and emotional as well.
On the pre-chorus, he sings “I want you out of my head. I want you out of my bed, tonight. There’s no way I can save you. Because I need to be saved, too.” Young Thug drops a killer verse as well. His range with his vocals adds to the complexity of the track. I can’t wait to see what Post Malone does next, because this one was a home run!
