Rapper Joins Forces With Eyewear Brand To Blend Legacy & Innovation
Travis Scott has officially been appointed as the first-ever Chief Visionary for Oakley, marking a major move by the iconic eyewear brand as it looks to expand its cultural influence. A long-time fan of the brand, Scott will collaborate with Oakley in a multi-year partnership that promises to push creative boundaries.
Though details about the role remain vague, the Houston-born rapper and entrepreneur expressed his excitement in a statement: “I’m inspired by what people think can’t be done. It’s about pushing culture and reworking ideas to see how far they can go. Oakley’s design game is next level, and I had to be part of that.”
Oakley’s Global President, Caio Amato, echoed the enthusiasm, saying: “Travis Scott as our Chief Visionary—a title that speaks to creativity, belief, and purpose—is the start of a bold new chapter for Oakley.”
To commemorate the partnership, Oakley has already launched exclusive merchandise, including hoodies, t-shirts, and posters inspired by Scott’s aesthetic.
While making moves in fashion, Scott is also in the crosshairs of rap drama, with Pusha T recently taking lyrical aim at him on the Clipse’s new single “So Be It,” further fueling tensions following a perceived diss against Pharrell on Scott’s Utopia track “Meltdown.”
