Gunna insists he’s innocent
Gunna has been in jail since May when he was arrested alongside Young Thug, and 26 others in a 56-count indictment that targeted YSL members for violating Georgia’s RICO act. Both Gunna & Thug have been denied bond. On Tuesday (June 14), 300 Entertainment, a label that is in partnership with Young Stoner Life Records, unleashed an open letter that Gunna wrote from a Fulton County jail.
In the letter, Wunna starts off in high spirits, “2022 has been one of the best years of my life, despite this difficult situation. This year I had the whole world pushing P.” The ‘’poochie gown’’ rapper points out how he was raised in a “marginalized neighborhood,” where he’s ‘’seen Black people attacked, hated, murdered, berated, belittled, silenced, judged, used and held captive,” but he’s still embraced his “art form, my gift from God, to change my circumstance.”
“The picture that is being painted of me is ugly and untrue,” he writes while emphasizing his innocence. “My fans know I love to celebrate life, I love my family, I love travel, I love music, I love my fans. I have all faith that God will grant me justice for the purity in my heart and the innocence of my actions.” He later concludes, “We still pushing P: Power, Prayer, Progress, Passion, Productivity, Praise, Precision, Pease, Prosperity, Patience, Pride and Persistence.”
