YFN Lucci Turns Himself in After he was Named a Wanted Man for Murder Charges

ATL rapper YFN Lucci is in some serious legal trouble. The 29-year surrendered himself to the authorities on Wednesday and is facing charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held in Fulton County Jail.

Police announced on Tuesday that Lucci, real name Rayshawn Bennett, was wanted in connection to the shooting death of 28-year old James Adams. According to authorities, on December 12 last year, the cops responded to a gunfire call in Peeples Street, St. S.W. Upon arriving, officers found James Adams suffering a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to Grady Memorial hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the rapper’s arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal Constitution, the ‘Everyday we Lit’ rapper was the driver of the car that drove to a rival gang neighborhood. Two men in the car opened fire, leading to a gunfight. Adams, who was in the vehicle, was hit in the head before he was thrown out of the car that sped away. TMZ has released a recording of the 911 call of the shooting.

Shortly after the fatal shooting, another shooting victim arrived at Fire Station 14, he survived. Police believe the two shootings were related.

Prior to Lucci being announced as wanted, the cops apprehended two other people in connection to the killing. 17-year old Leroy Pitts was arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. APD also arrested 23-year old Ra’von Boyd and is being charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
