Atlanta rapper teases retirement on Adin Ross stream, stays tight-lipped on new album ‘Uy Scuti’
Young Thug may be considering a major career pivot — or at least joking about one. During a recent appearance on Adin Ross’ Kick livestream, the Atlanta rap icon was stunned to learn just how much money top streamers are making, and playfully suggested he might hang up the mic for good.
“I’ma stop doing music and start streaming,” Thugger told Ross. “I think I’m gonna stop. I’m telling ya, I’m done rapping and gonna start streaming.”
Thug admired the streamer lifestyle, adding, “Y’all live a cool life. Y’all go everywhere every day. Y’all got cats wondering around this bitch. Y’all got all types of crazy stuff.”
While clearly said in jest, the moment went viral — but fans hoping for more info on Thug’s upcoming album Uy Scuti were left hanging. Ross pressed him for a release date, but the rapper remained silent.
Still, the rollout for Uy Scuti has been anything but quiet. Media members have received cryptic promo packages containing live spiders and the message: “Take care of me until we reach UY SCUTI.”
Though no official date is set, the album is expected to drop sometime this month.
