Future and producer Rico Wade— member of Organized Noize, a legendary Atlanta hip-hop production group— are cousins. Rico Wade has produced many southern classic albums, a majority of OutKast‘s albums, TLC‘s 1995 single Waterfalls and many more.
Future credits his first cousin Rico Wade as his musical influence. Rico took Future off the streets and made him a young member of the Dungeon Family’s second generation, which included other artists like Killer Mike, Bubba Sparxxx, Slimm Calhoun, The Calhouns, Konkrete and Purple Ribbon All-Stars.
“I took him out of the trap then, He knew he had to sit in the back and watch. He knew better than to jump in with the grown folks.” says Wade, using the 15-year-old Future’s early love of rap as a way to get him to spend more time in the Dungeon.
