50 Cent is bringing “Black Mafia Family” (BMF) series to STARZ. The premium cable channel provider has greenlit the series, which is based on a true story.
“I told you ‘Black Mafia Family’ was coming, and it’s going to be the biggest show on television,” 50 said in a statement. “Meech and Terry are legends and i’m excited to bring their story to Starz.”
Based around two brothers (Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory) from Detroit, who founded BMF in 1989. Their loyalty to their hustle is seen all throughout the culture of hip-hop. Business and leadership was their game and money is parallel to their name. Prosecutors say their operation made over $270 million, allegedly.
Both 50 Cent and Randy Huggins (who worked on the series “Power) will executive produce the series. G-Unit Film and Television partners up with Starz and Lionsgate Television.
