Drake’s “Scorpion” was the first album to reach one billion streams first week

Drake released his fifth studio album “Scorpion” on June 29, 2018. The same week the album became the first album to reach one billion streams in its first week of release. The album also debuted at No. 1 on the 200 album charts.

Before the record was broken by 's Scorpion the record, the previous record with almost 700 million streams was set by 's “beerbongs & Bentleys.” in May 2018.

Drake's 25-track double album “Scorpion” sold some 731,000 units in the United States for the week. Scorpion's lead single God's Plan won Best Song at the GRAMMY Awards.
