Big first week numbers for Pop Smoke’s posthumous release
If only Pop Smoke was here to see his legacy flourish. The late Brooklyn rapper’s posthumous album, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon is the biggest posthumous album release since Michael Jackson’s This Is It, released in the fall of 2009.
Pop’s album debuts no. 1 on the Billboard and sold 248k in its first week. These numbers exceed the prediction of 200-225k first week.
It’s been reported that we will be receiving a total of 8 additional tracks for Pop’s deluxe album. Pop would’ve been turning 21 this year on July 20.
