Dreamville is expanding

J. Cole and Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad founded Dreamville in 2007. What began as a dollar and a dream, has transformed into even bigger ventures, as Shirely Ju of Variety breaks the news of Dreamville’s latest addition to their powerhouse.

Dreamville is beginning Dreamville Ventures, a media company and Dreamville Studios, which will be producing original and co-produced content. Damien Scott (Dreamville president) and Candace Rodney (vice president of Dreamville and president of Dreamville Studios) are the leaders of this new sector for Dreamville.

“Dreamville has always been a mom-and-pop operation with grand ambitions and ideas that extend far beyond music,” Cole said in a statement to Variety. The hiring of Damien and Candace not only expands our family business with two of the smartest and most capable executives in the industry, but allows us to take a massive leap towards turning those big ideas into reality.”
