Lil Wayne turns himself in, in South Florida
Surrendering in Miami, Lil Wayne has pled guilty to a firearm possession in South Florida. The Cash Money rapper pled guilty this afternoon (Dec. 11). Wayne’s potential sentencing is 10 years.
Wayne was in possession of a .45-caliber handgun while in route to South Florida on a private jet; this took place last Christmas. When Wayne arrived to the Opa-locka Executive Airport on Dec. 23, 2019, staff was made aware of Wayne’s handgun by an anonymous that helped bring awareness to search the 38-year-old star.
Wayne’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 28, 2021. If found guilty, he can be facing up to 10 years. He’s currently free on bond ($250k) .
“I must say I thought it was a very viable motion,” says Wayne’s lawyer, Howard Srebnick. “He has decided not to pursue a motion to suppress.”
