In a statement, the”My Type” rapper explained the inspiration behind the meal. “McDonald's and I run deep – from growing up back in Hayward, California, all through my college days – so I had to bring my icy gang in on my all-time favorites,” she said. “Depending on the mood I'm in, there are so many ways to enjoy my order. I like to keep things fresh – I know that's right.” She added.

This isn't the first time McDonald's partners with a celebrity for a meal. The corporation has successfully worked with K-pop group BTS, Latin artist J Balvin, and , with the latter reportedly bagging in $5 million from the Travis Scott meal. Some branches allegedly ran out of food following the release of these celebrity meals.
