Drake Sends Kodak Black a Beat Hinting a Collab

Share

Kodak Black played the beat for Lil Yachty

Drake and Kodak Black are friends and are known fans of each other’s music. It is no surprise that the two might work together in the future. On Saturday (July 31), a clip surfaced of Kodak Black playing Lil Yachty a beat that Drake sent him. “Got this beat that Drake just sent me, I’m tryna put a hook to it,” Kodak tells Yachty in the video.

As the 808s come in, the Pompano Beach rapper tries to freestyle a hook over the beat. It’s not clear if Drizzy sent Kodak the beat for a Certified Lover Boy collab, but the Toronto rapper recently did reveal that his album is finished.

Drake has been very supportive of Kodak for years. In 2018, he praised Kodak’s album Dying To Live, calling it lyrically pure. He also recently showed love to Kodak’s EP, Haitian Boy Kodak. Back in 2020, while he was behind bars, Yak jumped on the comments of one of Drake’s posts, expressing his desire to work with Drizzy on a joint album.
