Lil Peep and XXXTentacion Hit with Lawsuit Over “Falling Down”

An artist named Richard Jaden Hoff who formerly went by K.R. i. O is suing the late and over their 2018 hit “Falling Downn,” TMZ has reported.

In the lawsuit, Richard claims that Peep and XXX sampled his June 2018 track “Under My Breath.” He specifically points out that the guitar riff on his track was looped, sped up, filtered, and equalized but remained significantly similar to the alleged original guitar.

Columbia Records, Sony , and numerous producers of the record have also been named as defendants in the suit.

The posthumous record was highly successful upon its release and peaked at number 13 on Hot 100. It was featured on Peep’s sophomore studio album, Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 2.

May the two late artists continue to rest in peace.
