21 Savage says “it’s time” to drop new album

21 Savage has already released two singles this year

It’s been over a year since 21 Savage released a full length project, and according to a recent tweet, he wants to change things. On Thursday (January 20), the rapper quoted a Billboard tweet about artists with most Hot 100 Chart entries so far in this year.

“No album in a year and a half tho…it’s time,” he wrote on the retweet. From Billboard’s tweet, 21 is the fifth artist with the most entries on the Hot 100 this year. The Atlanta rapper ties with other rappers including Doja Cat, Future, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Young Thug, who all have four entries.

The Slaughter Gang leader kicked off the year by unleashing two singles, “No Debate” & “Big Smoke” on January 1. The two tracks arrived with a joint music video. “Let’s go into 2022 the right way,” he wrote on Instagram before dropping the singles.

21 had revealed last year that there were possibilities of dropping the album before the year ends, but added that he’d like to take his time to focus on quality. “That’s what I’m planning on,” he told Apple Music’s Ebro Darden when he was asked about his plans to drop in 2021. “But I like quality work. So however long that take, it’ll take but I’m dropping something, for sure.”
