Kid Cudi’s ‘Entergalactic” gets a release date after three years of teasing
Kid Cudi has been teasing his Netflix animated series and album of the same title, Entergalactic, since 2019. The series finally gets a release date. On Wednesday (June 15), Netflix shared a teaser for the film as well as the release date, which is set for September 30.
The film features a story a young artist named Jabari, who tries to find an equilibrium between success and relationship. Jabari is portrayed as “a charming, creative visionary with a splash of goofball, Jabari is effortlessly cool. Dressed head-to-toe in the holiest of streetwear grails, Jabari is just one of those kids you can’t help but love.”
The cast is star-studded with the likes of Jaden Smith, Jessica Williams, Timothee Chalamet, Ty Dolla Sign, Vanessa Hudgens, Macaulay Culkin, Teyana Taylor, among others.
Entergalactic is animated by DNEG and written by Ian Edelman & Maurice Williams. Directed by Fletcher Moules, it’s executive-produced by Cudi, Karina Manashil & Dennis Cummings of Mad Solar Productions, Ian Edelman of Edelgang, and Maurice Williams.
Cudi released the single ”Do What I Want” last week along with the trailer for the upcoming series. The single is expected to appear on the album which will accompany the film.
