N.O.R.E regrets not countering Kanye West’s controversial comments on Drink Champs interview
N.O.R.E regrets letting Kanye West get away with his controversial remarks on Revolt TV’s Drink Champs interview released over the weekend. During the interview, Ye made some comments that have been raising eyebrows.
At some point, Ye even said George Floyd died as a result of fentanyl use and not a cop kneeling on his neck for around 9 minutes.
On Monday (October 17), N.O.R.E expressed his regret on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning for not questioning Ye’s statements during the interview. He said he’s sorry to “anybody that was hurt by Kanye’s words and actions” as well as to “anybody who felt like I let them down.”
“I’m sorry,” he stated. “I can sit there and say, ‘That’s only Kanye West, it’s only what he said.’ But I have a responsibility when I have an audience … When I watched myself, I was embarrassed. I was like, ‘Wait a minute? You just let him say that?!’ I’m irresponsible for letting it go.”
However, N.O.R.E added that he still has hope for Ye. “By the way, I love Kanye West. I really think that we shouldn’t give up on Kanye West,” he said.
