Young Dolph’s death anniversary is now his day in Tennessee and Georgia
Young Dolph to be honored by IdaMae Foundation on his death anniversary, Thursday (November 17), with his own Day Of Service. According to WATN-TV Memphis, the date will be called Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton Day Of Service in Tennessee and Georgia.
In Memphis, IdaMae will offer lunch, free haircuts, and free winter kits that’ll include coats, blankets, socks, and gloves at the Hospitality Hub. In Atlanta, the foundation will give out free haircuts and dinner.
“The spirit of Young Dolph Day encourages anyone in any city to give back to their community – no act of service is too small,” a press release from IdaMae read.
Young Dolph was fatally shot in November 2021 at Makeda’s Cookies on Airways Boulevard in broad daylight, three suspects have so far been arrested in connection to the murder.
Last week, the third suspect, 43-year-old Hernandez Govan, was arrested and charged with Dolph’s murder. Authorities say Govan is the one who “solicited the murder, leading Justin Johnson, a rapper known by the name of Straight Dropp, and Cornelius Smith” to shoot and kill Dolph, Fox 13 reported.
Govan happens to be the father of Destinee “Lotta Cash Desto” Govan, a 25-year-old rapper who was shot to death in Houston September this year. She was signed to Lil Uzi Vert at the time and the latter even attended her funeral. Govan mourned his daughter’s demise on Facebook, blaming her death on his “lifestyle” and even went on to “apologize” to her.
