Madlib & Mike Dean have made hits with iPads in the past
Technological advancement has allowed artists and producers to make hits on the go, and acclaimed producers Madlib and Mike Dean have taken advantage of it. On Monday (December 12), Our Generation Music shared a clip from an old Madlib interview with the Red Bull Music Academy where he revealed that Kanye West’s “No More Parties In LA” was made on an iPad.
“Actually, that beat was made off by a iPad,” Madlib told the host about The Life Of Pablo track, to which he replied, “Thank God for the iPad.”
Madlib added in the 2016 interview, “Every time I sample a record I do the whole record. I made beats of a whole record.”
Mike Dean spotted the OGM post on Instagram and jumped on the comments to share his own experience with making instruments on iPads. The Houston producer disclosed that parts of Ye’s “N*ggas In Parris” beat were made on his iPad, particularly “chops and drum endings” on the “ball so hard” segment.
“N IN PARIS ball so hard chop and ending drums were done on my iPad,” Dean wrote.
