Defendant in YSL RICO case claims he was man-handled by deputies
A defendant in the YSL RICO case was reportedly manhandled by deputies while being escorted to the courtroom on Monday (January 23). According to AJC, defendant Rodalius Ryan’s lawyer Angela D’Williams revealed that her client had sustained injuries at the hands of officers and had to go for a medical check-up, leading to the delay of court proceedings.
“I will be filing a formal complaint against the (sheriff’s office) because they are agitating my client on purpose and when he gets to court agitated, they act like they don’t know what’s going on,” D’Williams stated.
The deputies involved claim that Ryan began spitting in the police car and later spat on officer Kandakai Morris’ face, per an incident report by Chanel 2 News. D’Williams said she will pursue an investigation of the incident stating: “All deputies are supposed to wear body cameras. When the discovery comes out, we’ll see the body cameras and we’ll see what happened.”
