Yak says he was just clowning his homeboys on ‘No Flockin’ but it exploded
Kodak Black might be a major force in today’s rap, but his reign started a while ago when he dropped his beloved classic record “No Flockin” in 2014. This weekend, Our Generation Music shared a clip from a 2018 interview on 103.5 The BEAT where Kodak admitted that he doesn’t like the smash record.
He revealed that he made the song just to clown his homies for smoking flakka, which was popular at the time. But the record ended up exploding into the mainstream even earning him a cosign from Drake.
“‘No Flockin,’ to tell you the truth, I really don’t like that song,” Yak said in the clip. “I was just saying anything because people was smoking flakka at that time. So I was making fun of my homeboys who started smoking that, my uncle was smoking that. I was just clowning them, but it went viral.”
The record was later interpolated by Cardi B on her No. 1 diamond single “Bodak Yellow.”
