Nicki’s new release is eligible for gold certification
Nicki Minaj dropped off her fifth album, Pink Friday 2, on December 8 and it has already earned over 500k units in the US, making it eligible for gold certification. However, these numbers are largely contributed by the previously released successful singles: “Red Rudy Rose” and “Super Freaky Girl,” as well as “Last Time I Saw You.”
The 22-song effort also became the biggest album debut by a female hip-hop artist after garnering 41m streams over the weekend. Per HitsDD, it is on pace to score 170-190k album-equivalent units in the first week.
