UMG ends contract with TikTok

Major acts like , , and will not have their on as terminates its contract with the social media app in effect from Wednesday (January 31).

In a statement released by UMG on Tuesday, the mega-company accuses TikTok of unfairly pocketing more money from their material than they should while paying less to the other party.

UMG also claims TikTok has failed to provide online security to their artists. The Chinese company hit back at UMG with their own statement arguing the label is being driven by corporate greed and are spreading a “false narrative.”
