Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’ becomes most certified single by female rapper, ousting Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow’


Nicki breaks another sales record

continues to cement her position as one of the most successful female rappers of all time. Per Chart Data, the Queens rapper's single “Super Bass” is now the most certified song by a female rapper after it earned 12× platinum certification from RIAA. This means it has garnered over 12m units across the US.

Nicki has now surpassed who previously held the title with “Bodak Yellow” which is currently 11× platinum. “POW!!! thank you to Republic Records for always having my back. barrrbz!!!!!!” Nicki tweeted in reaction to the news.

The record first hit the airwaves in 2010 as part of Pink Friday deluxe. It was later released as a single in 2011.
