G-Eazy explains pulling back from limelight

G-Eazy confronts popular belief that he fell-off in his rap career, explaining that he had to lay back because of “burning out” and his mom’s passing in 2021.

“So I was burning out, really,” he said during an interview on Wild Ride with Stevie-O. “Like, when you go that hard for that long? And we had a great run. It was three albums in a row that went platinum, you know?”

He added, “It’s like overwhelming, overstimulated. And then, my mom passing and all that? I needed to reset from the business side of it. I changed management, I moved to New York … I had to grieve.”
