Lil Zay faces up to a decade in prison

Lil Zay Osama has pleaded guilty in his gun case stemming from last year’s arrest in Brooklyn, New York, per the New York Daily News.

“I knowingly possessed a firearm that was a machine gun in Queens County on Sept. 29, 2022,” the Chicago rapper said during a court hearing in Brooklyn on May 30. “I know that it was wrong and against the law.”

The rapper will learn his fate this month and faces up to 10 years behind bars.

The “Fuck My Cousin” MC was picked up by police along with two other men in December 2023 after he reportedly left behind a Glock pistol fitted with a switch that converts it into a machine gun in an Uber in New York.

He was later charged with possession of a loaded machine gun, theft of stolen goods exceeding $10,000 but not more than $100,000, and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number.

The theft charges are in connection to a jewelry store robbery in New York although it’s not clear if the rapper was directly involved in the crime.
