Kendrick Lamar has been missed
Kendrick Lamar dropped his last album Damn in 2017 and fans have been growing impatient to receive another classic from K-Dot. After all, it's only necessary for an artist to take all the time they need to create a masterpiece. Kenny is known for that, quality over quantity.
Kendrick Lamar along with his protégé Baby Keem will be featured on the upcoming i-D Magazine's 40th anniversary cover story. K-Dot and Keem were both interviewed by the Media house. In the interview, Lamar revealed that he has been thinking on how to create a new sound, suggesting that his upcoming album will sound as fresh as ever. “I spend the whole year just thinking about how I'm gonna execute a new sound, I can't do the same thing over and over, I need something to get me excited.” said the DNA rapper.

He also spoke about the trouble he's been having on following up his fan-favorite and sophomore album Good Kid; mAAd City. “I remember the sophomore jinx of Good Kid M.A.A.D City; it was for that year and for that time,” he reveals, adding “I was in a different space in my life. I already knew off the top I can't make Good Kid M.A.A.D City Part Two. The second I'm making that, it's corny bro. That takes the feeling away from the first. I need that muhfucka to live in its own world. Then boom, To Pimp A Butterfly. Some people love it to death, some people hate it.”
Back in January, Billboard's columnist Bill Werde tweeted a word he heard from a friend that Kendrick's next album is complete and rock-influenced. The interview is possibly confirming these rumors.
