Lil Wayne’s lawyer, Howard Srebnick, had requested later sentencing date
On December 23rd, Lil Wayne was stopped at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport for anonymous saying Wayne was in possession a weapon. Wayne’s lawyer, Howard Srebnick, initially had Wayne’s sentencing expedited to January 28, but seeing as though Srebnick’s caseload is heavy, he’s requested to have the sentencing moved to a later date, in order to properly prepare for Wayne’s guilty plea.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams, has granted Wayne a new court date of March 3rd. Federal level prosecutors are requesting that Wayne serve time in prison, however, Wayne’s guilty plea could help his case. Wayne’s last sentencing was in 2010 for felony gun charges from 2007. He began serving this sentence in March of 2010.
Despite his legal troubles and the talk of selling music catalogue (including Drake and Nicki Minaj’s), No Ceilings 3 mixtape has been the distracting factor from all the negativity in Wayne’s view.
One week ago, Wayne’s 2000 video for “Everything” was put back on Youtube.
