YNW Melly wants to be relieved from visitation restrictions stemming from contraband allegations
YNW Melly’s legal defence has filed a motion to lift visitation restrictions imposed on him after some contraband was allegedly found in his dorm, according to Complex.
Melly’s defense team says another inmate accused the “Murder On My Mind” rapper of being in possession of “shanks and pipe bombs.” When a search was conducted, the other inmate was the one found with the shanks & pipe bombs, while just “writing utensils” and “potato chips” were discovered in Melly’s dorm cell.
According to court documents obtained by Complex, the rapper’s defense says the area that they’re supposed to interact with their client is too small that it’s “impossible to review any documentation.”
“Not only is the visitation room not large enough to accommodate Defendant’s attorneys, anyone standing outside of the room can hear everything that is said in the room violating Defendant’s right to private and privileged communications,” the motion reads.
It adds that this a “violation of not only his constitutional rights but Florida law as well.”
