Tip used to advise 21 and Thug on matters of music business
T.I. recounts denying 21 Savage and Young Thug $1M record deals to protect their friendship. During a conversation at the Club Shay Shay podcast, Tip recalled telling the two artists not to lose sleep about money because it was on its way.
“21 Savage, Thug and a lotta them coming to me ‘hey man, T.I give me a million Tip. Tip give me a million and I’ll handle it from there,’” the “No Mediocre” artist explained.
“I’m like, ‘nah, I ain’t gon’ do that. Cause if I give you a million, I gotta take back something that’s gon’ be worth way more than that, and we ain’t gon be able to be friends,” he added. “And I always tell them, ‘don’t worry about the money upfront cause it’s gon’ come.’ I remember telling that to Slime, I remember telling that to 21 and even Savage every time he see me he gon’ hit me saying hey, it came.”
