Both prosecution & defense have asked for the delay

The trial for Young Dolph’s alleged killers Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith has been pushed back again, according to HipHopDX. The trial was reset to begin on June 3 but Shelby County Judge Jennifer J. Mitchell had to push the date back to September 23 after a filing was made.

“As we all know, this case was set for trial today,” Judge Mitchell said. “I was extremely upset when the lawyers came to me, asking for a motion to continue this case.

“I was really anxious to get this case over and done with starting this week, but they both expressed to the court the desire to get experts in. So I allowed the continuance to occur.”

The trial was initially set to start in March but was moved to June. Both the prosecutors and defense attorneys have requested the delay in order to get their witnesses ready.
