Megan scores significant legal win
Megan Thee Stallion has moved her harassment lawsuit from California to New York, while the attempt by Roc Nation to be relieved from the indictment was denied.
The case includes claims from Megan’s former photographer Emilio Garcia against the rapper and Roc Nation for various reasons including posing a hostile work environment, harassment, and misclassifying employment status among others.
Last week, there was approval from U.S. District Judge Hernán D. Vera in favor of Megan, allowing her case to proceed in the Southern District of New York; the judge, however, declined to dismiss Roc Nation from the case for the moment.
Filed in Los Angeles with the California reclassification laws that turn independent contractors into employees, according to maximum hours worked, Garcia’s complaint is joint to Roc Nation’s reasonable inference given the latter’s involvement in the status of the photographer’s work.
