‘SOS’ star teams up with K. Dot for a performance in New Orleans on February 9

Superstar rapper Kendrick Lamar is bringing along an exciting special guest for his Super Bowl LIX halftime show performance next month: none other than R&B sensation SZA. The news dropped on Thursday (January 23) with a new Apple Music ad, where Lamar is seen contemplating a guest appearance, only to be surprised by SZA, who dumps a Gatorade on him.

The Super Bowl performance will occur at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9. This marks another significant milestone for SZA, who has been a part of Kendrick’s creative circle since joining Top Dawg Entertainment in 2013. Together, they’ve earned Billboard hits and Grammy nominations, solidifying their undeniable chemistry.

In addition to the Super Bowl, Kendrick and SZA will tour later this year on the Grand National Tour in support of Kendrick’s latest album, GNX. The tour kicks off on April 19 and will run through June 18, with performances across North America, including Toronto, the hometown of rival Drake.

Fans are also buzzing about the potential for a joint project between the two, with SZA recently expressing her excitement about the possibility.
