BET Hip Hop Award nominees announced, Cardi B leads with ten nominations

The BET Hip Hop Awards will return October 5th, 2019, at the Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center. After beating his peers with eight nominations last year, this year, Drake slides into third place with seven nominations, allowing Cardi B to lead the with ten nominations.

After cuffing four wins at last year’s Hip Hop Awards, Cardi looks to clinch more trophies this time around with her 10 nominations including MVP of the Year, hot ticket performer, hustler of the year, best collab, single of the year, made-you-look award, and two nominations for the best hip-hop video, & sweet 16 categories.

Though Cardi didn’t release her sophomore album this year, she has released a handful of Hot 100 hits such as: “Money,” “Press” and “Please Me.” featuring Bruno Mars.

There’s a three-way tie for second as DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, and J. Cole receive eight nominations. Despite his untimely passing earlier this year, Nipsey Hussle receives five nominations. As for new faces in the game, Megan Thee Stallion snags five, while DaBaby receives four nominations.

The 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards will air Tuesday October, 8th 2019 at 8 pm EST on BET. Check out the full list of the nominations below:
