Bey challenges IRS’ claims

Beyoncé is not having it that she owes IRS $2M in taxes. Forbes reported that Bey received a Notice of Defiance that claimed she owes $805,850 for 2018, as well as $161,170 in penalties. She is also expected to pay $1,442,747 for 2019, and $288,549.40 in penalties.

Per Page Six, Bey filed a petition challenging IRS that the agency ignored the fact that she has donated millions of dollars to charitable organizations in two years. Beyoncé’s legal team says IRS should’ve waived her since she “acted reasonably and in good faith.”

“We are working with the IRS and anticipate that the matter will be resolved shortly,” Beyoncé’s lawyer Michael C. Cohen said in a statement.
