Cardi B avoids jail time through a plea deal

Cardi B learns her fate in her 2018 strip club brawl case. The “Hot Shit” rapper appeared in court on Thursday (September 15) where she entered a plea deal regarding misdemeanor charges of 3rd-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and was sentenced to 15 days of community service instead of jail time. She is also to keep out of contact with the two women for three years.

Cardi’s plea deal comes just in time since the jury was scheduled to be selected this Friday (September 16), and the trial would’ve been held on Monday (September 19). Now none of that will happen.

“Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions,” the Bronx native told TMZ after the hearing. “As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instil in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to.

She continued, “These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now. I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most — music and my fans.”

Cardi was accused of ordering the whooping of two strip club bartenders: Jade & Baddie Gnun in October 2018. She allegedly accused one of them of getting under the sheets with her hubby Offset.
