In 1993, OutKast released “Player’s Ball,” the hit single that launched their career. The single, produced by Organized Noize was originally for a Christmas album and it was originally released two weeks prior on the compilation A LaFace Family Christmas. The single ended up being on OutKast‘s 1994 debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
The music video for “Player’s Ball” was directed by Sean “P. Diddy Daddy Puff” Combs. In the Diddy directed music video for “Players Ball,” Andre 3000 and Big Boi are cruising around the city, and make stops at the pool hall and the barbershop, giving listeners an up-close glimpse of their hometown.
