Hov is quick to identify bootleg records

Jay-Z was leaving his New York workplace Tuesday night (December 13) when he ran into a group of fanatics who wanted their vinyl records signed. Per a clip captured by The Holywood Fix, the Brooklyn mogul signed several of them except one.

The rapper noticed one particular vinyl, which was his The Black Album Revisited, to be fake. “That one ain’t even real,” he told the fan before walking away to his car.

Jay-Z has had to deal with bootleg records several times in his career. In 1999, he had to add two songs to the US version of his album, Vol. 3… Life And Times Of S. Carter, in order to counter bootlegging. He also caught a felony assault case for allegedly fighting record executive Lance Rivera over fake albums.
