While his company Yeezy is expected to hit $1.5 billion in sales this year, Kanye West has jumped Jay-Z to become Forbes’ highest paid hip-hop artist for the first time. The top 20 list for 2019, released today (September 19), which charted pre-tax income from June 2018 through June of this year.
The Chicago native’s $150 million estimated income practically doubles hip-hop’s first billionaire, Jay-Z, who pulled in second at $81 million. Drake, Diddy, and Travis Scott round out the rest of the top five. Others include DJ Khaled, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B.
