Kendrick Lamar has officially left TDE

Kendrick Lamar revealed last August that his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, would be his last project for Top Dawg Entertainment. Well, the album was released in May and K-Dot’s deal with TDE is done. As of Friday (June 10), Kendrick’s name wasn’t listed on the label’s official website anymore.

The record label currently has eleven signees under it including flagship artists Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q, as well as SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Reason, Lance Skiiiwalker, SiR, Zacari, and the recently signed Ray Vaughn & Doechii who are all listed on the website.

Kendrick Lamar has been signed to TDE for almost 20 years. He was discovered by TDE founder and producer Anthony ‘’Top Dawg’’ Tiffith when he was just 16. The ‘’N95’’ rapper has released five albums under the label, with three of them going number one.

The Compton native is now operating under his own company, PgLang, which he co-founded with his friend Dave Free. The company has already signed Kendrick’s cousin Baby Keem in partnership with Columbia, and Tanna Leone in partnership with Def Jam.
