Kendrick Lamar sends message to Punch, Punch sends it to the world

For the past couple of hours, rumors have been going around that Kendrick Lamar has left Top Dawg Entertainment for his own label PgLang. These rumors have sparked confusion among fans. Kendrick has been quiet for months now, so it wasn’t obvious that he’d come and respond to the allegations.

Fans have been dragging TDE boss, Punch, to come forward and clarify if there is any veracity in these claims. Punch later posted a cryptic message on Twitter, as he always does, indirectly referencing the rumors. “A rumor gets halfway around the world before the truth get it’s shoes on. Lol. ” Read the TDE honcho’s tweet.

Today TDE posted a video on Instagram of Kendrick Lamar talking about the rumors, but he can’t actually be seen in the clip. “Top, you got to stop them from smuttin’ my name, man. They been smuttin’ my name all year, man. You ain’t said nothin’, man,” K-Dot said while displaying a blue stuffed animal doll. “Enough is enough, man. Y’all done said I done shifted the label and all that, man. They must don’t know about that pickle juice that’s under your red cap, man. About that sweat — the sweat that’s holdin’ up that red cap together. Reason why it don’t fall off your head, man. That lubricant. You need to tell ’em the reason why that cap don’t fall off your head. So why would I fall off?”

TDE Punch has since issued his response, reposting the video captioning it,”Lol. I guess the truth got its shoes on.”

Some fans on social media think these rumors were necessary to get the Damn rapper to come out of his hideout. Even though the much respected lyricist didn’t provide any updates on an upcoming album, maybe these rumors could be powerful enough to get TDE to bless fans with a Kendrick Lamar album.
