Lil Uzi has been teasing the mixtape for almost two years


seemingly confirms that his fifth studio mixtape, The Pink Tape, will no longer be released exclusively on . On late Saturday (July 30), the Philly native shared on that the forthcoming tape was supposed to be a free SoundCloud project dedicated to his fans.

“It was a free SoundCloud tape for my fans …. When I drop Pink Tape you will see 😝💘,” he tweeted.

On July 22, Uzi released his third EP, Red & White, as a supposed pre-taste for The Pink Tape. The EP marked Uzi’s first solo project since ‘s Eternal Atake.

In October 2021, Uzi announced at a friend’s wedding in Cambodia that the project would drop on Halloween, but later took back the claims a week before the holiday.

“No, it’s not [dropping next week],” the 26-year old rapper said while interracting with fans in the streets at the time. “Then it drop next week, and then it sounds like shit, and I gotta hear from like 100,000 people on , ‘This sucks!’ So you gotta let me take my time… I’m taking my time so it won’t suck.”
