Suspect in Lil Tjay’s attempted robbery & murder was after rapper’s jewelry
Lil Tjay is yet to regain consciousness following the Wednesday night shooting in New Jersey. As investigations continue, the cops have provided new updates on the shooting. According to Allhiphop, the suspected shooter, Mohamed Konate, 27, was targeting Tjay’s jewelry during the robbery.
Konate, accompanied by two other suspects, reportedly pulled up in a white BMW alongside a red Dodge Durango in which Tjay and his two friends were seated in. Konate approached the rapper and his friends demanding for their jewelry, but instead, a gunfight erupted.
Tjay was hit several times in the upper chest and one of his friends was hit once. Konate was also shot and his accomplices took him to hospital where he was later arrested.
Tjay’s associates Jeffrey Valdez, 24, and Antoine Boyd, 22, were also arrested after the shooting for unlawful possession of a weapon. Boyd was taken to the hospital along with Tjay with one gunshot wound.
